AppleScript Applets (Applications)
When using AppleScript to Script things, you can make
your scripts into little Applications, called "Applets". But
Java also calls their small stand-alone Applications
"Applets". AppleScript was around a lot longer than Java --
and the AppleScript Programmers want you to know this. So
when you create an Applet, the AppleScript programmers
actually give you an egg to go along with it.
- While running an AppleScript Application go to "About
Script Applications..." in the Apple menu.
- Then Control-click on either the icon or the text
"Script Applications"
In early versions the text will change to "Applets &
Droplets".
In System 8 and later, it says "The Original Applets"
instead just to remind the Java-heads where the name came
from.
