Web Rings
share with your friends

Little sites get no respect. So how do you become a big site? Exposure, exposure, exposure. Just keep trying to draw users in.

The difference between a Web-Ring and a banner exchange is just in the presentation. The disadvantage with rings is that most users won't actually use the ring. But the advantage is that people that will are actually hunting for other sites in your topic area. So the likelihood of hooking a visitor (assuming you have good content) is probably higher.

You can go for the wider audience Web-Rings -- but you are probably more likely to hook users if they are looking for something in your topic area. So "bang for your buck" is probably best expended on specialized banner exchanges (around your topic of interest).

Remember, even a few extra visitors a day can help get the word out about your site. So while there may not be a great ROI (return on investment) -- your investment is not much, and any return is better than nothing. Don't be afraid to try new things, and learn.
