Apple and Jolly Rancher
Aquanaughts and the new User Interface

Apple just previewed their neat new Aqua interface that will be used in the forthcoming OS X. Steve Jobs started by saying that it was interface that made you want to lick it. Imagery aside, the interface does remind me of what would happen if you left a jolly rancher candy on the Mac interface on a hot summer day -- so I refer to it the jolly rancher interface.

Interface people are paid to notice all the little details, and make sure that everything makes sense and is conveying the most information possible, in the clearest and easiest to understand ways -- basically we are like editors, under-appreciated nitpickers. Let's go through the new interface changes, and try to pick some nits and see what we can learn.

Conclusion

I'm not pleased with all the choices made... but I'm more pleased than I am discouraged. So things are going in the right direction.
